As
well as processing premiums and claims the IMR
also allows the broker to submit policy documentation
to Xchanging electronically. Xchanging check the
policy and add a digital signature to the policy
and then return it via email to the broker.
The
process was tested in 2007 and as of May 2008,
61 brokers are using the service and about 30%
of policies are now signed electronically. The
MRG has set a target that all brokers will be
registered for e-policies and that 80% of all
policies will be electronic by the end of 2008.
