Define and complete Standardised Endorsement Documentation

Sponsor: John Muir (Willis)

Project Manager: Stuart Dean (Willis)

Timescale: Q1-Q4 2007

Target: Phased market roll out from September

Description: The project aims to introduce increased standardisation into the administration and processing of endorsements. This will build on the electronic placement standards work and will focus on identifying endorsement categories within which standardisation can take place. In the initial stage, information will be exchanged between firms via email.

The benefits will include improved customer service, reduced administration time and support for Contract Certainty. The project will affect both brokers and underwriters and will require significant co-operation between parties to address variations in the way in which brokers and underwriters process endorsements. The anticipated outcomes will include an agreed framework for handling endorsements, standardised documentation, email protocols and structured messages based on ACORD standards.

Status: This project is complete. The Market Reform Group has approved the establishment of a market wide endorsement project based on the results of this pilot. For information on the Endorsement Project please click here.
