Delinking

Delinking separates the submission of premium closing information to Xchanging from the instruction to settle the transaction. The London Market Group (LMG) has agreed that by the end of 2008 delinking should be used for 100% of original and additional premiums for direct insurance, facultative reinsurance and excess of loss reinsurance, unless they are specified as either optional or out of scope in the Delinking User Guide. Furthermore brokers should aim to submit delinked accounts within 20 days of inception, or in the case of late placements, within 20 days of the last line being written. To assist brokers with their take up of delinking, LIIBA will provide monthly league tables to brokers showing the percentage of transactions their organisation has delinked. Brokers are also provided with a detailed report showing whether each risk processed via Xchanging was delinked. For more information see the documents below or please contact LIIBA on 020 7280 0152.
